Within the frame of administering articles, a main set of data is stored for each article as well as several kind of sub-data:
· agreements according to price (in general / customer-specified according to category/customer-specified)
· buying conditions according to supplier
· long and textual discriptions
· if need be discriptions in foreign languages
· if need be processing carried out according to regular standards

An article is clearly identified via a ten digital alphanmerical code which is used like the thirty digital short text as a matching code.

The articles are standardized to limit necessary additional files:
· H = trade ware (number of articles)
· M = trade ware with dependency of measure or time (m, kg, h, etc.)(In addition to the amount, a factor for the measurement is asked for).
· 1 = basic glasses to be used for glass trade or glass processing or sealed units manufacture. These glasses are sub-classified according to their sort - see below
· B = processed glass
· G = glass trade (sale of standard / stored sizes of basic glasses)
· 2 = double-insulating glass
· 3 = tripple insulating glass

This standardizing of articles is also used for the types of position.

This articles of type B,G 2 and 3 can be considered as "container-articles", which in fact contain the single glasses to be processed. Each article of this kind contains the single glasses to be used as standard which are determined during the registration of orders, but can be varied according to the customer's wishes by the person registering.

Because of the specific processing- and / or applying characteristics, the single glasses are sub-classified:
· float
· parsol
· ornament
· hard coated
· soft coated
· ESG
· VSG

Especially, articles of insulating glass (sealed units) need a numerous amount of additional information, e.g.:
· structure of glass (the standardized kind(s) of glass which can be varried according to the order).
· space between glasses (width of spacer bar)
· kind of spacer bar, -gasfilling, -sealing
· maximum measurements
· technical figures concerning construction
