masks

In masks selected files of a set of data derived from a data bank grid are mostly presented via distributing them across their field. Basically, this is divided chequered and the parts of it ("cells") created are then filled with the presenting elements.
Basic elements are:
· the naming of fields,
· the value of fields
which are defined via their data bank names.
Next to these basic elements the following objects can be presented:
· definitions referring to flag fields (e.g. the calling for statistics to this article)
· graphical areas (technical drawing and images)
· lists.
All field data can be streched over several columns of the grid. Especially graphics and lists can be extended over several lines.
The value of fields mostly show directly the contents of the data bank of the corresponding data bank field. Nevertheless, mathematical links can be defined over several data bank fields or cross-references (via line and column data). Moreover, in a very special cases references referring to program internal association arrays are possible.

The layout of the grids ("mask layout") get a name which denominates typically the purpose of its use. In a application system masks denominated differently can exist and if need be, be activated next to each other and at the same time (see program and configuration).
